Most people tell us ' they just want to feel better and get back to doing what they enjoy' or they are 'frustrated' by their limited movement or performance or they feel held back by mental & physical stress or anxiety and don't know where to begin. We really listen and work with you so that together we can create a programme of treatment to reach your individual goals so you can start to feel better.
We are not just about Physiotherapy, we focus on therapy without boundaries. We are forward thinking and progressive. We treat holistically - we treat the whole person because you are a whole person. By combining evidence based practice, robust research, along with experience and open mindedness to new ideas, we create a rounded approach to treatment aimed at achieving lasting results.
We aim to equip you with good knowledge, understanding and help you demystify your symptoms. This understanding gives you the confidence to know when you are doing harm to your body/mental well being and crucially, when you are able to safely ask more of yourself.
Alongside hands on therapy, we teach you strategies and exercises to manage your symptoms long term and address any reoccurrence of symptoms promptly. Think of it like a tool kit that you can dip into for an appropriate self management strategy when needed.

The lymph system is the body's drainage system to eliminate toxins, balance fluids and fight infection. It plays a critical role in the body's health and well being. Debris from cell activity is cleaned from the body through this system. Oftentimes this system can become congested as a result of postural stress, emotional stress, incorrect movement patterning, illness, surgery, stress or injury. Toxins cannot be effectively transported, filtered or removed and remain in the body. Lymphatic massage alleviates these blockages and encourages the system to flow freely. This treatment is beneficial for everybody and is key to the restoration and maintenance of good health.
This is technique of Eastern origin. Cupping involves creating a vacuum which draws the tissues into the cup. This increases circulation, assists the elimination of toxins and stimulates cell repair.

Acupuncture now has a solid scientific base in Western medicine to complement the Eastern knowledge base for this modality. The insertion of small sterile needles into acupuncture points on the body produces a strong pain relieving and anti-inflammatory effect without the use of medicines. Stimulation of the brain and spinal cord in this way releases endorphins for pain relief, melatonin to aid sleep and serotonin for wellbeing. It is effective in the treatment of many conditions and especially helpful for arthritis, spinal pain, headaches and post injury. You will have an assessment and will be asked to complete a screening consent form prior to treatment. Acupuncture can be used as a sole treatment or in conjunction with other therapies.
Massage is an effective way to reduce chemical, physical and emotional stress that is held within the body. The benefits of massage include a reduction in pain, tissue tightness, fatigue and stress, along with increased sense of relaxation and a stronger immune system.
Massage can be superficial or deep and the techniques can be adapted to your preference.

"A truly transformative visit for me. I was recommended to visit Shelley by a friend and I have been searching for someone to help me with several issues. She a ssessed me completely, gave me a suggested programme of exercises to complete and gave me an initial treatment on my legs and feet. All I can say is instant improvement. Personally, I simply cannot recommend her undoubted skill sets highly enough :)"
Mark Clogg - January 2024

"I've seen many therapists over the past 40 years but can honestly say Shelley is one of the best - if not THE best. S he treats in an holistic way and is generous in sharing her time, knowledge and expertise. I have learned a lot from her exercises and new ways of dealing with musculoskeletal issues and I have plenty of those. Shelly is enthusiastic and encouraging and very talented with a toolbox of healing techniques which are amazingly effective. Highly recommended!"
Sheila Jacobs - April 2023
"I was recommended to use Shelley's services by many of my friends. I am 74 and not without problems. My first visit was very thorough and instilled confidence in her knowledge and approach. Since then I have been treated for problems with hips, feet, knees, lower back, shoulder and neck. I n every case Shelley has suceeded in her treatments. Her prices are very reasonable. My overall impression is of a very experienced and capable practitioner who instills great confidence in overcoming difficult problems".
Alan Berry - March 2023
" I have suffered various sports inures and impacts over the years as well as normal wear and tear...Shelley is the most knowledgeable, confident and helpful Physio that I have ever seen (and I've seen a few...), also with the widest variety of treatment techniques. Stumbled across her by recommendation and would not see anyone else. Shelley also actively encourages self-help and provides detailed guidelines on how to achieve results without further treatment - a genuine and holistic approach to Physiotherapy with a focus on patient rather than profit. Shelley provides a brilliant service and is good company as well- and also empathetic if you need that sort of thing :-) Highly Recommended
Paul Denning - 2023
"Very Professional Cranial Osteopathy treatment with Shelley who skilfully combined several complementary treatments which were very effective. I would highly recommend Shelley as a practitioner and am extremely grateful for the service she has provided to help my scoliosis, sciatica and my misalignment. I feel well on the road to improvement. Thank you Shelley!

I have been seeing Shelley for more than 3 years. Initially for a serious neck issue but since then, for my back and knee issues. Shelley is a gifted practioner, her knowledge and experience have been transformative and I cannot recommend her enough."
Marie Happy - August 2022
"I have used Beeches Therapy Clinic on a number of occasions, both pre-Covid and during the current pandemic. I have always been impressed by the high standards in place to keep me safe, both in hygiene and the approach to the therapy offered.
The treatment I have received for various issues has been excellent with great follow-up involving exercises that I could continue at home in order to maintain my progress.
The holistic approach to the treatment is what I found so impressive because it was about ensuring that every aspect was assessed prior to treatment starting and there was a careful review on each visit to consider the improvement and what should happen next.
I was recommended to Beeches and have no hesitation in recommending others to use this excellent Clinic."

Physiotherapist & Muskuloskeletal Specialist
I have a first class BSc (hons) degree in Physiotherapy, a further BSC (hons) in Social Science and have been working for over 20 years in the field of Musculoskeletal Therapy and Well Being. I am a Chartered and HCPC State Registered Physiotherapist.
After qualifying I worked as Physiotherapist at the University Hospital Aintree and Walton Neurological Centre in Liverpool before moving to The Royal Bournemouth Hospital in Dorset, first, as a Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and later as an Extended Scope Practitioner and Clinical Researcher in Orthopaedics. With a brief break to focus on family life, I returned to work privately as a musculoskeletal therapist with my own practice. I have post graduate training in Acupuncture, Fascial Release, Kinesiology Taping, Electrotherapy, Craniosacral Therapy and Reiki among other approaches. I have a special interest in Headaches and neck pain. My approach is holistic. Identifying the underlying causes of pain and dysfunction is central to making enduring changes in our body and is central to my practice. An open minded intuitive approach underpinned by scientific evidence is key. I believe these traditionally opposing approaches can work in synergy to create an innovative and effective treatment platform.
The Beeches Therapy Clinic was born out of an increasing client demand and a vision to share an ideal based on a belief that a fusion of therapies, both old and new, can create a truly transformative treatment paradigm that yields enduring results in wellness.
